December Council Meeting refuses Planning Application

The planning committee of Newham Council endorsed planning officers recommendations and refused the current planning application for the mosque on Wednesday 5th December.

"The planning committee's decision was a good one and a huge step in the right direction," said Alan Craig, campaign director of MegaMosqueNoThanks. "However Tablghi Jamaat has shown they have deep pockets and are determined to fulfil their ambition for a massive international centre on this site irrespective of local concerns. We can expect them to appeal over the heads of Newham Council to the Planning Inspectorate at Bristol - as they have done successfully before - and that this issue will drag on much longer yet."

We will put up the link for the minutes to the meeting when it is released by Newham Council
